Journal 6 all about lily chou chou

Yesterday night my friend tal-tal asked me to send her Lily Chou-chou's song through the MSN. Then I opened Lily's files, and I just couldn't help but keep playing her songs again and again on my iTunes. The night reminds me of some sunshine days of living in my little apartment next to Fu Jen. For those days, I always listen to Lily Chou-chou when I need some comforts, and I would play songs all day long, and stare at sparkling sunlight on my wall which coming from my window. I still can remember that my roommate and I love Lily's song so much that we always joke about we should call our future daughter 周莉莉 with the English name Lily (lily chou chou), if we marry someone who got a first name chou.

The album is titled Hu-Shi(呼吸). It seemed to be the soundtrack of the film All About Lily Chou Chou but I'm not rally sure about it. I used to love 飛べない翼 most, because it was the main background melody of the film, and reminds me lots of important scenes in the film. Then I started to love the the third song エロティッく , because it attracts me most when I first listen to the whole album. On the other hand I also think 共鳴（空虛な石）is very impressive because its chorus is very powerful and strong. When I feel upset, I can recover very soon from her intense but sincere singing. However, soon after I started felling into with the fifth song in the album named 回復する傷, a song without lyric but Lily's humming. It's truly a peaceful song that give listener a sense of consolation. Sometimes when I really in a hard time, I need a whole night to think and to talk to myself, then I would play a quite song like 回復する傷 repeatedly to accompany me. Besides, the song 愛の実験 can not be ignored because Lily's voice in this song is too sexy that when I listen the first line "I see you, you see me..." I can not help but keep quivering.

For last night, a night I started to listen to Lily Chou-chou again, at the same moment I realized that it's not about I love which song in this album, it's because Salyu's (the real singer that sing Hu-shi in reality) song just so good and touching that every time I listen to them, in no matter what kinds of mood, I still would indulge in her music deeply. Some songs just have the atmosphere to fit into people's heart and let people define them as remarkable as priceless souvenir.

All About Lily Chou-Chou (リリイ・シュシュのすべて) is a 2001 Japanese film written and directed by Shunji Iwai. It portrays serious issues among teenagers like loneliness, sex, violence, personality manipulation and even prostitution. Though the movie emphasize on lots of issues, the whole film still run in a quite atmosphere along with Salyu's music. The scenes are beautifully shotted, the lights are bright and hazy, and the speed is slow. It has already been two years when the first time I watched the film, so I couldn't remember the exactly plots. This year, the year of 2011 is the tenth Anniversary of All About Lily Chou-Chou, and she have a new song called Ether which I already got from my lover. Still very beautiful and touching. Maybe I will find some time to see the film twice to flash back my memory toward Lily. Love Lily Chou-chou forever.

Journal 5. Winter Drink

Now I have a little sun(actually it's a hot electric fan which shinning like a sun)stay aside with me because there is only 16 degree in my room. My cats are also lying near by me in order to warm themselves by getting closer to the little sun. In such cold winter, it is the best time for all of us to hold a cup of warm chocolate in our hands. I confess that I'm always a sweet lover. Though afraid of getting chubbier form those sweetnesses, I still can't not control myself to seize the chances of buying a cup of hot chocolate.

Since having various chocolate drinking experiences, I want to share different chocolate that I love from different places. Hot chocolate from Starbucks is the one I love most, it's not very sweet but own a strong chocolate aroma. The drink is very thick so it is suitable for strong-flavored lovers. Another chocolate that similar to Starbucks is from Tabard. Tabard is a little coffee shop near by Zhongxiao Xinsheng MRT Station which offer us a special kind of chocolate called Mexico Chocolate. It has fuller flavor because instead of using only hot milk, the bartender also save hot formed milk to create a better taste of Mexico Chocolate. On the other way round, though Mos and Dante Coffee's chocolate are sweeter, they got a kind of vanilla smell, so they are also very tasty. Chocolate of Chez Moi is the sweetest one, since it not only use cocoa powder but also add a spoon of white sugar. But it has three cotton candies decorated on its top, and the best part is you can drink chocolate with the melted cotton candies. I can not described how delicious it is, having this kind of chocolate is the most blessed thing in winter. If you can't not find some time to sit in a coffee shop to enjoy your cup of hot chocolate, you can try 7-11's. But the flavor is up to the worker in the store. Sometimes the nice worker would offer you a cup of tasty chocolate milk. But I have a bad experience that I once got a flavorless and tasteless one since it has no difference between it and hot milk. Hence, I wish you good luck if you're going to try 7-11's chocolate milk.

By the way, have you ever heard of the story of Lady Godiva? She was a legend lady who save her people by asking her husband(a land lord in middle ages) to reduce her people's tax. And she serves as the symbol of elegance and dignity. So it is the reason that the Godiva Chocolate Company choose her name as the title of the company. Just a little association. Enjoy your sweetness!

Journal 4. Yang-yang

"I'm the man from the kingdom of sheep, not living in the wooden fence but on the green and shinning grassland. I like to go out and play, everybody calls me Chen-zhi-yang the black sheep. My skin is black, and my eyes are white. When talking I like to speak dirty words; when going outside I enjoy to play and step on the mud. I really wish that someday my heart could also turn into black, since my skin is already black. Please, please, please."

「我是羊國人，住在草原上，不在柵欄裡，喜歡往外跑，叫做陳知羊。膚色是黑的，眼睛是白的，喜歡講髒話，喜歡採泥巴，希望有那麼一天，心也可以變成黑色的哦ｉ６。ｉ６。」

I don't exactly remember when did I started calling myself "Yang-yang", it seems like the name is living with me for quite a long time. For past years, I didn't have an adorable and suitable nickname. I was pleasant only when others calling me my real name "Chen-zhi-min". but now, somehow I feel that the name can represent my personality and also symbolize my feelings toward things I love. I actually don't know how to explain, but just have some feelings toward the name. Now whenever I meet a stranger on line or on MSN, I would just copy and paste the little passage above to him or her before introducing myself. Because I think the description of the black sheep can introduce myself better than my greeting words.


So, if you ask me why I choose Yang-yang, do you really like this kind of animal? I think surly I can answer you yes. Black sheep can not frequently been seen in our daily life (because most of the time we only can see the white sheep, right?), but on the night of my 20th birthday, I saw a beautiful black sheep on the mountain of Miao-li. I can't be overstating, but I was really astonished when the moment that black sheep straightly stared at me. It looks like a real men because it was smiling. It had the facial expression that same with people. Its crystal-clear eyes like it can read through not only me but also my mind, which reminds me of the shishigami god (the forest god and mountain god) of the film Princess Mononoke. And it was smiling all the time. I think it was the exact time that I fell in love with the black sheep.

Journal 3. The Fool

My love band "Warpaint" has released their new album The Fool on October 1th. I hate myself for noticing the news so slow that I can't download and listen to it at the first moment.
Two hours before, I was browsing the White Rabbit Recored's FB pages, then I found that they post a song by Warpaint which I have never listened before. As I read the content closely, I realized that it was the new song from their brand new album. I can't hide my joyful mood for I　love their last album Exquisite Corpse very much.
For me, Warpaint is the symbol of "woman power", their music is strong and intense, or even violent. They are good at creating the atmosphere of mystery. Sometimes they just give me a sense that they are fairies living in the deepest woods but always hiding their faces under a wolf mask.


I listened to their music for almost a whole year, and I think the main reason that I love them so much is because they all are girls! And each of them were very talent. One of their favorite trick was to "switch place". Like they all can sing and play guitar. So for every different song they can change vocal or have two singers.
Now I'm going to post the first song of The Fool here. It is called "Undertow".
It's powerful and shocked. and I think it's good for heart-breaking people.
